Frequently Asked Questions

Pricing is tailored to your deployment environment. Factors include: number of tenants, expected traffic volume, air-gap requirements, compliance needs (FHIR/PSD2/FedRAMP), and whether you need on-site support. Like WSO2 and other enterprise gateway vendors, we provide custom quotes. Contact us to discuss your requirements.

A tenant_id in Gatez represents an isolated unit — typically a business unit, team, or external customer. Each tenant gets independent rate limits, token budgets, API keys, and audit trails. For example, a bank might have separate tenants for Retail Banking, Wealth Management, and Insurance divisions.

Yes. Gatez runs entirely on your infrastructure. All LLM calls can route to local Ollama instances (no external API dependencies). The platform is air-gap capable — we've deployed for government agencies with no internet access. ClickHouse, Redis, Keycloak, all observability tooling — everything runs in your network.

When Agent A delegates to Agent B, which delegates to Agent C, traditional systems only log "agent_id=C". Per-hop identity creates a token at each hop (via RFC 8693 token exchange), so you have a full audit trail: which human started the chain, which agents delegated what, and what permissions were carried through. Critical for compliance in regulated industries.

Kong is L1 only (API gateway), Portkey is L2 only (AI gateway), neither has L3 (agent governance). Gatez is the only platform that unifies all three layers with shared tenant_id, observability, and audit trail. Kong's best features require SaaS (Konnect), Portkey is SaaS-primary. Gatez is on-prem first, with per-hop agent identity no competitor offers.

Yes. We offer guided demos tailored to your use case (multi-BU governance, regulated AI, agent orchestration, etc.) and can set up a proof-of-concept deployment in your environment. Contact support@gatez.dev to schedule.
